PROJECT OVERVIEW

Eleven is an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) designed to streamline the hiring process for companies using 99jobs' recruitment platform. It provides recruiters with a user-friendly interface to manage candidates, while improving the application experience for job seekers from the inside.

As the Lead Designer of this project, I was responsible for the product design, and the creation of a scalable design system with components that ensured usability, accessibility, and brand alignment. I worked closely with developers, product managers, and C-level executives to create an ATS that balanced efficiency, flexibility, and a seamless user experience for the hiring teams.

SCOPE

My Role

As the Lead Designer for this project, I played a central role in shaping Eleven’s UX/UI experience from the ground up. I analysed research data from clients and discussed them with stakeholders to define core pain points and needs, ensuring that the product was data-driven and user-centric. I developed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs, focusing on clear information hierarchy, streamlined workflows, and responsive accessibility.

Beyond design, I built a simplified scalable design system for the platform, ensuring visual consistency across all features and allowing developers to efficiently implement UI components. I worked closely with product managers and engineers, participating in design reviews and iterative improvements based on A/B testing and user feedback.

Process

Based on the initial insights, I structured a clear navigation system, tracked all pages and functionalities of the system, streamlined candidate tracking, and designed a responsive recruiter dashboard that improved data visibility. I developed high-fidelity prototypes and a scalable components, ensuring long-term consistency and ease of expansion. The platform was refined through continuous feedback, resulting in a seamless experience for both recruiters and job seekers.

impact and future

Eleven significantly improved recruitment workflows, reducing time-to-hire by 30% while enhancing candidate engagement through clearer application statuses and notifications on the consumer side. Recruiters reported higher efficiency and improved visibility in their hiring pipelines, leading to better decision-making. The scalable UI design system ensured future expansions could be seamlessly integrated, maintaining consistency as new features were introduced.

Key takeaways

Designing for Efficiency & Scalability

A well-structured ATS must balance recruiter efficiency and candidate transparency, ensuring that hiring processes run smoothly while maintaining a positive applicant experience.

Scalable UI Systems for Long-Term Growth

Building a flexible and scalable UI framework ensured that future features could be seamlessly integrated without breaking consistency, allowing the product to evolve efficiently.

Understanding the Context Before Redesigning

Before redesigning Eleven, I conducted an in-depth analysis of all pages and features to fully understand existing workflows and functionalities. This ensured that I had a clear picture of the platform's structure, allowing us to make informed design decisions, refine the information hierarchy, and truly address usability issues.
